Reviews: Perfect Pie Spice
I use this occasionally mixed in with my coffee and a little steamed milk. I prefer this to the flavored syrups that IMO are too sweet. I find that this is not overly sweet and doesn't leave the lingering aftertaste that syrup does.
This perfect pie spice has a nice balance of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. It's missing the allspice and ginger that many other pumpkin spice blends include. The ingredients are listed on the bottle, but there is no nutrition label. It doesn't seem too heavy on the sugar, but that would have been nice information to have because my family tries to watch carbs.
I tried this spice mix in a latte. It was delicious! The flavor was fairly subtle and just a bit different than the cinnamon I normally use in my coffee. I think the nutmeg and cinnamon came through the most for me. I still added my normal packet of stevia, and my drink wasn't overly sweet. I'm looking forward to trying it on a variety of fruits and vegetables too.
This is pricey, but it may be worth it for the nice glass jar and the unique spice blend. The Mark Twain story on the label is fun too.

This is a great ready to go spice blend for topping your whipped cream, vegetable dishes in the fall, popcorn, nuts, etc. I usually use the McCormick brand, and this brand differs in that it includes sugar in it - meaning if you want to use it in baked goods it is going to require a bit more than usual (my guess would be 25%?) because of the sugar reducing the other ingredients. It does make it tastier when added directly to foods as a garnish though, so it’s overall more versatile and I think I prefer it.
The bottle top opening is wider than most spice jar openings (although the bottle itself is standard size so will fit with your spice lineup) which makes it easier to use with measuring spoons, and the top has both a small and large set of holes for sprinkling.
Flavor wise, it should be noted that it contains cloves which *technically* makes it more of a pumpkin pie type space than a general pie spice (which is generally more of an apple flavor, the same but minus the cloves part!)

I use cinnamon everyday when making my overnight oats for the next day (and depending on the season… use pumpkin pie spice, apple pie spice or nutmeg too). I liked that this was a good combination of spices I already use and can just use it instead of having to make my own blend. While I liked this and thought it was a good size bottle, I’m not sure it’s really a good “value” compared to other product offerings. Plus it also goes back to how much my time is worth.. pretty easy to just combine the spices myself.
All in all, I liked this spice blend and will use it completely but won’t likely repurchase at current mkt price.

One of our families favorite sides is Fried Apples. I use fresh McIntosh apples- washed and sliced, butter brown sugar and this Perfect Pie Spice. It added just the right flavors to compliment the apples. I could smell and taste the cinnamon and cloves while baking. I am also going to use this for Thanksgiving for my pumpkin pies. I like that it gives all you need spice wise in one jar- no need to measure out everything separately. I will definitely order again.
This review is for the Perfect Pie Spice. Simple, flavorful, with a great balance of the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clovers. The taste is predominantly the sugar and cinnamon, with the supporting flavors of the nutmeg and cloves. Sometimes these types of spice blends can go a little too heavy on the nutmeg and cloves, which lowers the versatility of how it can be used IMO. This one is balanced well. It’s a great choice for oven baked apples, pan cooked fruit, and even as a breakfast bread topping. I tried it on a hot biscuit with this spice blended in butter, and it was awesome melted on the biscuit covered in yummy goodness for a cool morning.
